In the past (before social media) when reddit was reddit with reddiquette, people used to upvote the most useful comment to the topic and downvote the troll comment or least useful. I'm looking to move away from reddit since i feel like i've largely aged out and have beliefs that reddit generally resents now, but it basically replaced forums so can be a challenge.

These people are the most insufferable people on the entire site due to their sheer numbers. The only way i can enjoy it here is if i don’t take anything seriously. These people are why i feel shame when i tell people i use reddit. Reddit will calculate your karma for the contributor program starting on the day you first received gold.
I feel like reddit has a lot of toxicity and it doesn't matter if you try to be super upbeat and positive, or if you're negative.
